Doubles is bringing Caribbean-inspired fare to Brooklyn Heights. The Hamptons favorite is opening a new location at 90 Henry Street. Expecting to serve its lineup of chicken, sandwiches, salads, smoothies, ice cream, cold beer, and more.
If you remember PLATE from our Insider section back in May, we have an update. Now with an official Instagram, describing itself as “a grocery store, technically” they’re teasing an upcoming opening we’ll be keeping an eye on!
Lantern Thai Kitchen is closing after 20 years in Brooklyn Heights. The neighborhood spot first opened in 2006 and have announced that its final day of service will be September 30. After two decades of serving Thai comfort food and becoming a familiar fixture in the community, Lantern is inviting neighbors to stop by for one last favorite dish before the doors close. Be sure to pay them a visit before they close, they’ll certainly be missed!
Returning members and hopefuls at the Brooklyn Nets Team Hype audition are asked to describe Brooklyn in a dance move.
Brooklyn’s protected bike network is finally complete with NYC DOT finishing the redesign of Ashland Place in Downtown Brooklyn. They’ve converted the street to one-way traffic and added a two-way protected bike lane. The project fills the final gap in a continuous 5.5-mile protected cycling lane stretching from Sunset Park to DUMBO, while also shortening pedestrian crossings along the redesigned block.
A lot to catch up on this week including a $21.5M Smith Street deal that has me very curious about what could be coming next 👀 As for this week’s plans, the Italian wine tasting to kick off “big red” season at Brooklyn Wine Exchange is calling my name. See you around the neighborhood!
