Brooklyn businesses are pitching in to help SNAP recipients during the shutdown and delays to vital food benefits started on Saturday Nov 1. The Trump administration said on Monday that 40 million SNAP recipients will only get partial payments and it is not clear when those reduced payments will be distributed.
The proposed 14-mile IBX light-rail aiming for completion around 2030 will link Brooklyn (Sunset Park) and Queens (Jackson Heights), cut cross-borough travel to about 32 minutes, serve 19 stops, and drive thousands of new homes. [The New York Times]
