Starting this week, Atlantic Avenue turns into a mile-and-a-half-long art gallery for the annual ArtWalk, where 125+ local artists showcase their work inside 70+ neighborhood businesses. Running May 9–17, this free, self-guided event invites you to wander, discover everything from paintings to photography, and support the small shops and restaurants.
The Longest Table returns to Brooklyn Heights this month, turning Remsen Street into a vibrant, open-air dining experience. The community event brings neighbors together at one long table to share a meal, connect, and celebrate the neighborhood. Save your spot here.
Café Mars is switching things up in May with a full transformation into an Italian izakaya. The space will take on a new menu, look, and feel centered around Itameshi cuisine, blending Japanese techniques with Italian flavors for a limited time concept that’s definitely worth checking out. Pizza on the Pier @ Brooklyn Bridge Park (Three 90-min sessions 12pm - 5pm)*: Pizza on the Pier returns for its sixth annual celebration, bringing together 30+ of NYC’s top pizzamakers. 100% of ticket sales go toward providing meals for local hunger relief organizations. Brooklyn Conservatory of Music Open Stages, 3:00-6:00pm (map below): Open Stages is a neighborhood-wide, free music festival with stages all over Park Slope, and a celebration of Brooklyn’s vibrant music scene. Each year, the event transforms Park Slope into a lively tapestry of sound and culture, where the streets come alive with melodies and rhythms from around the globe.
