We're sharing neighborhood openings, events, happenings and more.
Here’s what’s happening this week:
✨ Local Happenings and New Openings ✨
Ramblin’ Chick Opens Today, March 19! From the founders behind Ample Hills, the new spot will serve their much-anticipated “Cracklin’ Chicken Smash Burgers”, expect crispy, juicy chicken burgers the team has been perfecting for years.
There’s a new tasting menu in the neighborhood! Cremini’s is offering a new tasting menu highlighting the flavors of Italy’s Marche region. The experience features a selection of the restaurant’s signature dishes inspired by family traditions and seasonal ingredients. Available Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday all day, and weekends until 4 PM (with the full menu still offered).
Renovations at the historic Carroll Gardens Library have been delayed until summer 2026 after unexpected structural challenges were discovered during construction. The 1905 Carnegie branch has been closed since 2023, with a temporary pop-up location operating in Cobble Hill while upgrades continue.
Community member Jessie Mro has launched a petition urging the city to open the fully built pre-K facility at 42 President Street / 129 Van Brunt, which currently sits unused despite being fully outfitted. Local parents say they’re forced to travel long distances with young children while the space remains closed.
A Tom Brady-backed collectibles store has quietly opened in Downtown Brooklyn. We’ve got the details inside the Insider section.
After recently closing its DUMBO locations, Taste56 and Bar56 are hosting a warehouse-style sale of furniture, art, lighting, and other items from the space. The neighborhood will certainly miss them, but it’s a chance to take home a small piece of the spot.
