Poppy’s Outpost is now open! Poppy’s has a new spot, their Outpost Soft Opening is this week. Currently, they’re offering a full barista menu and pastries from their to-go window. Check it out at 191 Columbia.


Osteria Radisa now offering brunch: The recently opened Osteria Radisa on Smith Street is now open for weekend brunch! Check out the menu here.
Chick-fil-a New Location: Downtown Brooklyn just got a new Chick-fil-a (opening day July 24) at 31 Smith St.
New York City’s fourth citywide tree census, which is held every decade, is currently underway. NYC Parks is looking for Brooklyn volunteers to survey trees in local parks [BK Reader].

Today, July 24:
Movies With A View: Waitress @ Brooklyn Bridge Park, (6:00pm-10:30pm): Bring a blanket, grab some snacks, and celebrate Women in Hollywood with one of the films that started it all. Featuring pre-show vibes by DJ MissHap, concessions by OddFellows, drinks by Fornino and the sunset skyline backdrop we all love. The lawn opens at 6:00 PM on a first come, first serve basis, and the movie begins at sunset. FREE.
Midsummer Nights @ Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, (6:30pm): For the fifth year running, the Midsummer Nights series is bringing four evenings of free music to BKCM’s front stoop! Curated by acclaimed jazz singer-songwriter, NPR Tiny Desk artist and former BKCM Jazz Leadership Fellow Melanie Charles, this year’s Midsummer Nights lineup is a who’s-who of diverse rising artists who are revitalizing jazz – and knocking down genre boundaries. This week is Creole (Kreyòl) Dance Night featuring Linda EPO, whose musical journey is a testament to the rich tapestry of her Haitian and Mexican heritage reflected in the vibrant fusion of genres that define her sound. Friday, July 25:
Sounds at Sunset: Brooklyn Americana @ Brooklyn Bridge Park, (6:00pm-9:00pm): Ease into the weekend with a free Friday night concert series featuring local and international talent set against the backdrop of a glowing sunset. This week’s performances include Lauren Housley & The Northern Cowboys, Jan Bell & The Maybelles, and Rams Montero & Tiger Orchid. RSVP recommended.
Gay Clay Night @ Blue Room Pottery Studio, (7:00pm): Let's get down and dirty with the gays! Celebrate pride all year round with your partners, friends, and other queer folks while learning the basics of wheel throwing. Events are 2 hours and include snacks (cheese/charcuterie) and drinks (wine and NA beverages). Each attendee will be able to select up to 2 items to have completed for them by the studio. $125 (email for sliding scale options).
Saturday, July 26:
Floral Design Class with Seeking Floral Arrangements @ June Wine Bar (11:30am-1:30pm)*: Join Grace from Seeking Floral Arrangements in the June Wine Bar courtyard and arrange some flowers with mimosas, coffee, and fresh pastries. Get your tickets ($145) here.

CHEF SOMM SERIES @ Gus’s*: Welcoming Cali Faulkner of Third Falcon for a special CHEF SOMM dinner, Gus’s is offering five courses by Chefs Cali + Chris McDade, each paired with a hand-selected wine, including a welcome pour. FAD Market Pop-up @ St. Paul (190 Court St) (July 26-27 11:00am-6:00pm): FAD Market is at St. Paul this weekend (July 26–27) with 70+ makers, vintage finds, small-batch treats, custom aura portraits, and plenty of summertime charm—perfect for a post-brunch stroll.
