Here’s what’s happening this week:

✨ Local Happenings and New Openings ✨

  • We’ve rounded up a list of Black-Owned businesses in honor of Black History Month. Check it out HERE.

  • Just Salad has opened a new location at City Point in Downtown Brooklyn - its fifth outpost in Brooklyn.

  • A $17.5 million penthouse at Olympia DUMBO (featured as Denzel Washington’s on-screen home in the film Highest 2 Lowest) has entered contract. The full-floor residence offers nearly 5,000 square feet with sweeping views of the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan skyline, and would rank among Brooklyn’s priciest condo sales if it closes at asking.

  • Fresh Grocer Supermarket opens on February 13th. Operated by Inserra Supermarkets, the 18,000-square-foot store will offer fresh produce, prepared foods, a full-service butcher and bakery, international items, and grab-and-go meals, creating roughly 140 local jobs.

  • The historic Bossert Hotel in Brooklyn Heights is moving toward a luxury condo conversion. Plans include large, high-end units, a 60-foot pool, fitness and play spaces, and a new upscale restaurant intended to serve both residents and the neighborhood.

  • Community Board 6 discussions this month touched on immigration enforcement concerns and ongoing Court Street bike debates.

  • Feel-Good News: Tucker Piner is being spotlighted for his work as CEO of Tucks Travels and founder of the DUMBO Dads Run Club. From helping low-income New Yorkers access passports and travel abroad to building a supportive, active community for Brooklyn dads, Piner’s work is a feel-good reminder of how local ideas can create real connection and opportunity.
