Finer Sounds opened in The Ace Hotel! With a curated selection of vinyl records and other audio necessities, Finer Sounds has opened its flagship store inside the Ace Hotel. They’re open daily from 11am-6pm.

New Heatwise studio coming to Carroll Gardens! Set to open in 2026, Heatwise will be opening a new studio in the Carroll Gardens neighborhood, get the latest updates here.
Hawaiian Fast Casual spot opens in DUMBO: Aloha Alley just opened in at 40 Main St, offering Poke nachos, traditional Hawaiian plates, spam musubi, shave ice and more!
Breads Bakery is now in Brooklyn Bridge Park and they’re offering an exclusive babka pizza at the new location. They’re also serving up their classic pastries, sandwiches, salads, coffee and more.

Trudie’s Tavern from Gertie Team opening in the former Buttermilk Channel space: The couple behind Gertie has announced that they will be opening a restaurant in the longtime Buttermilk Channel space (524 Court Street) later this year. Trudie’s Tavern will serve up dishes like matzo-crusted fried chicken and waffles, steak, and rotisserie chicken. The menu will be led by Gertie’s former chef Mike Cain. [Eater].

The collection “Color Memory”, a visual diary told through saturation, light, and place, will be on display for the months of August and September. Regina Vargas is a fourth-generation painter whose work blends personal memory, cultural heritage, and a love for vibrant color. Born in Mexico City and now based in Brooklyn, Regina’s work is deeply rooted in her Mexican identity. FREE admission.

First Saturday: En Fuego @ Brooklyn Museum (5:00pm-9:30pm)*: Ignite your night with music, film, poetry, and comedy at August’s First Saturday.
