✨ Local Happenings and New Openings ✨

  • Mouv Pilates now open in DUMBO! They’re bringing a sleek new Pilates studio focused on hot mat and reformer classes. Check out membership and class options here.

  • Pure Barre in Downtown Brooklyn at 11 Hoyt St opens soon, and they’re offering pre-opening rates with a lifetime discount.

  • The shuttered Macy’s on Fulton Street in Downtown Brooklyn has been transformed by an interactive light installation now on view through March 16. Presented by the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership and the NYC Department of Small Business Services and designed by Masary Studios.

  • Confidant is officially back and reopened yesterday at 127 Atlantic Ave, in the former Colonie space. Chef-owners Brendan Kelley (Aska, Per Se) and Daniel Grossman (Gage & Tollner, Foul Witch), originally opened Confidant in Industry City. The new Cobble Hill/Brooklyn Heights location brings an expanded, seasonal menu with dry-aged fish and meats, housemade pastas, and standout dishes like trout mousse, prawn pot pie, and spicy mezze rigatoni. A deep natural wine list and elevated cocktails accompany these exciting dishes.

    Eater also reports “The team is also opening a new all-day bakery and pizza restaurant with a wine bar, Lou & Bev’s, right next door (129 Atlantic Avenue) in the spring.”

  • Laurel Bakery is pausing operations as they plan their move to Prospect Heights, next door to their sister restaurant Cafe Mado.

  • Warby Parker opens in Downtown Brooklyn. Their new location at City Point just opened also featuring artwork by beloved local cartoonist Roz Chast.

  • Dear Dreamer turns 3! They’re celebrating with weekend festivities including an embroidery bar, charm bar and lots of iced coffee!
