NY Transit Museum Holiday Nostalgia Rides are Back! Step back in time and enjoy the New York Transit Museum’s vintage 1930s Holiday Nostalgia Train! Running every Sunday in December from 10am to 5pm, these beautifully restored cars let you experience the magic of New York City’s past, all for the price of a regular subway fare. Full details HERE.
Diljān Bakery Coming Soon: A new Afghan bakery from the team behind Little Flower Cafe and acclaimed baker Bryan Ford, is set to open in November at 330 Hicks Street. They’ll be bringing a fresh take on Afghan baked goods. [EATER]
Brooklyn Uprising, a new independent and locally owned rock climbing gym, is set to open in DUMBO in January 2026 at 20 John Street, and is actively offering founding memberships to build its community. The Watermark at Brooklyn Heights is partnering with the Brooklyn Kindergarten Society for a community food drive supporting local families affected by the SNAP suspension. From November 1–17, donate non-perishable items in their lobby living room to help provide essential nourishment to Brooklyn preschoolers and their families.
Starting December 8, 2025, the NYC Ferry will introduce a direct route connecting Brooklyn and Staten Island - offering a transit alternative to the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge and integrating Staten Island into the city’s growing ferry network. [Gothamist]
